If you struggle drawing portraits, try doing profiles. They are less difficult and much quicker. This sketch is a partial composition, as the facial expression wasn't quite right in any images I viewed. I took the eye from one image, the mouth from another, etc. Then I added my own touch to the background to give a hint of where the light source is. Be sure to mark out the main proportions first and get these right, before adding detail. Otherwise it can become an 'uphill' task to get a good likeness.
