"Aah, what symmetrical digits..." W. C. Fields woos Mae West in the 1940 comedy-western "My Little Chickadee". This drawing took several hours, as it was worth the effort of capturing those distinctive characters. Also, the detail in the Vera West designed costume.
With 2 legends of comedy writing/acting in the same scene, the dialogue was sure to be memorable:
Fields: "Whom have I the honour of addressing, m' lady?"
West: "Mmm, they call me Flowerbelle."
Fields: "Flowerbelle! What a euphonious appellation. Easy on the ears and a banquet for the eyes."
West: "Kinda cute yourself"
Fields: "Thank you. I never argue with a lady."
West: "Smart boy."
